The holidays are more than a time for joy—they’re a time for reflection, tradition, and connection. For this Ryan Abramson blog, I have a great story:
In my home, one decoration shines bright. It’s not the flashiest or most modern, but its story brings generations of light to my home. This unique piece is what I affectionately call my "Greg-Tree," a handmade wooden spiral Christmas tree crafted by my mom's late husband, Greg.
The Gift of Handmade Traditions
Christmas decorations hold a special place in our hearts, especially those passed down through generations. They carry the memories of their creators, their owners, and the stories they’ve witnessed. My Greg-Tree is no different.
Greg’s talent and dedication were evident in every detail of the tree. Made of 70 individual wooden strips fanned out in a perfect spiral, it’s anchored by a central pole and balanced on handmade feet. The craftsmanship is incredible, but the tree’s value goes far beyond its design.
Greg poured his gifts into his hands, transforming wood into something that now stands as a living memory of him. But Greg wasn’t just a craftsman—he was a builder of memories. His legacy fills my mom’s home, where lights sparkle everywhere (no exaggeration—my mom loves lights), and built-in shelves, workstations, and even a meticulously organized garage reflect his life’s work.
